Where to Eat... |
|
Breakfast |
Winter Park Diner has amazing thick cut bacon. And their omelets are fantastic! |
Lunch |
Little Saigon Restaurant in ViMi. Wonderful Pho dishes. |
Dinner |
O'Stromboli's Italian Restaurant near Colonialtown. Great pasta and they're not stingy with the garlic knots. |
What to Do... |
|
Morning |
Winter Park Farmers Market is hopping on Saturday mornings. It's a good place to find fresh produce, plants and baked goods. Be sure to stop in the Winter Park Historical Museum which is behind the baked goods area in the old Train Station. |
Afternoon |
There are a lot of non-tourist things to do in Orlando during the day. Hit Skycraft Surplus store for lots of interesting electronic stuff. Hit Orange Antiques near Mills and Fairbanks. Get a Snow Cone at Rainbow Snowballs on Corrine Drive. Visit the Orlando Museum of Art or the Science Center on Mills. Visit the Virginia-Mills area (ViMi) for great Asian markets and restaurants. Go to Colonial Photo and Hobby for one of the best Hobby shops in Florida. Walk down Park Avenue in Winter Park for great shopping and eating. This is just scratching the surface. There is a lot of great local stuff to do. |
Evening |
Independent Bar in Downtown Orlando is a great spot for non-pretentious clubbing. Great music, and a fun mix of people, if you don't mind the Indy music scene. After midnight, stop by Planet Pizza next door for great New York style Pizza. |
Late Night |

If you're visiting Orlando, take at least one day to get away from the tourist areas. This is a great town with a lot to do that doesn't involve the Mouse. |
