A road trip to Orlando, Florida is more exciting than visiting the world famous Disneyland. It is the magic that is found when exploring the the highways and byways of the Sunshine State, a real world of beaches, mermaids, manatees and outer space. It is the feeling of excitement while driving along the highway, feeling the wind as it kisses your face that's really worth remembering rather than riding the tallest roller coaster in Disneyland.
So I packed my bags, bought along a lawn chair (for emergency purposes), and some cool drinks, and decided to explore the beauty that is Orlando, Florida! I drove for about an hour and reached Titusville. Here, I was able to see space shuttle blast off to outer space. Man, I tell you, it was a great experience! Ia was also able to see the astronauts as they nonchalantly talked to their families before they board the shuttle. It was launch day, and I was glad I went there as I was able to witness something that can be called as historical!
After that exciting and memorable experience, I drove for around an hour and a half, and I reached Weeki Wachee Springs. This is a fantastic place where even just for a day, you'll believe that mermaids do exist. I was able to watch "The Little Mermaid" performance, from a 500-seat theater embedded in the side of the springs, 16 feet below the surface of the water. I really had a great time. I felt like I was the prince charming Arielle saved in the fairy tale “The Little Mermaid.”
Still feeling ecstatic about mermaids, I decided to go to another water park, Silver Springs. Famous for their glass bottom boats, I was amazed by the view it gave me. A rare underwater peek at the type of springs that make up so much of Florida's landscape -- without having to put on a wet suit and air tanks. I really had a great time, especially whenever the crystal clear water would turn emerald green. It was really an amazing experience!
See, without spending much, I was able to have a great and enjoyable experience in Orlando, minus the over-crowded theme parks with dancing mouse and singing ducks.
